About Dr. Jennifer

Jennifer Hetrick, MD is a Family Medicine Physician in Columbus, Ohio. She provides comprehensive primary care, with an emphasis on lifestyle factors such as exercise, nutrition, and stress management in the treatment of chronic conditions. Her practice serves ages 6 and up through Direct Primary Care, a monthly subscription payment model.

Dr. Jennifer has always enjoyed caring for people. Her passion is caring for the whole person, family, and community. She’s aware that the power of accurate diagnosis and care arises from a safe and meaningful doctor-patient relationship and the space for patients to tell their stories. She loves the puzzle of diagnosing and treating complex cases and believes in the power of lifestyle changes, like nutrition, movement, sleep, and stress management, to prevent and manage chronic conditions. After many years providing primary care in a traditional setting, Dr. Jennifer knows that the best way to deliver meaningful healthcare is by focusing on the doctor-patient relationship, access to care, and commitment to healthy lifestyles. She decided to start her own Family Medicine practice with a focus on Lifestyle Medicine. She has since added Board Certification in Obesity Medicine and additional training in menopause/perimenopause and Men’s Health. In addition to her private practice, Dr. Hetrick teaches at The Dublin Methodist Family Medicine Residency program to encourage young doctors in the practice of lifestyle and family medicine.

Dr. Jennifer graduated from Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine in 1995 and completed her Family Medicine residency at The University of Missouri-Columbia, where she served as Chief Resident. She is board-certified by The American Board of Family Medicine, The American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and The American Board of Obesity Medicine. A native Buckeye, Dr. Jennifer lives in Worthington with her two children and dog Nugget. Dr. Jennifer values community and enjoys giving talks and cooking demos in local festivals and farmers’ markets, and encourages everyone to get out and move with Walk With a Doc.
